He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Champlin and Edith Champlin; his significant other Patricia; and his grandson Tracy Carpenter. He is survived by: his sister Leah Champlin; and his children, Owena Brannon, Owen Champlin, Jr. (Gail), Carol Schinker (David), Norman Springston (Renee), Phillip Stender (Casey), Timothy Springston, Lisa Lewis (Donnie), Eileene Bailey (Scott), Gina Lewis (Mark), Dirk Champlin and Kristin Champlin. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Suncrest Hospice or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Owen.
