We are sad to announce that on November 23, 2020, at the age of 97, Merl Spurgin Utsler (Carlisle, Iowa), born in Winterset, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Utsler and Lillie Utsler (Harrell); his former wife Harriet Lewis; his brothers, John and Joe; his sons-in-law, Glen "Bud" Ross and Gene Cox; and his pet Sassy.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnne; his children, Gary (Jan) of Pottsboro, Texas, Diana Cox of The Colony, Texas, Vicki Anderson (Peter) of Gilman City, Missouri, Martha Ross of Carlisle and Kim Hartshorn (Les) of Carlisle; his brother Dick McCauley of Honokaa, Hawaii; and his pet Teddy. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces, nephews.
Due to Covid-19 there will be no service at this time; a memorial service will take place in the spring.
