She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Arthur and Ester Elizabeth Barton (Smith); her husband Richard Lee Christensen; her siblings, Hope Mendenhall, Bill Barton, Robert Barton, George Barton, June Robinson, Jean Courtney, Leona Barton and Lester Barton; and her son-in-law Dave Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Christensen (Debra) of Carlisle, Dennis Christensen of Des Moines, Janet Smith of Indianola, Pam Hill (Steve) of Carlisle and Carla Benson (Roy) of Indianola; and her sister-in-law Anne Barton. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
Memorial donations in Margaret's honor may be directed toward the family.
