He is survived by: his spouse LaVon Smith; his sister Georgene Tyler Fawcett; his children, John Tyler and Anne Tyler Sink; his granddaughters, Christina Sink Smith and Laura Sink; his great grandchild Ian Smith; his sister-in-law Martha Tyler; his son-in-law Merritt Sink; and his grandson-in-law Tyler Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to the Grace Community United Methodist church of Fort Mill, South Carolina or the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Athens Georgia.
