He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Franklin Woodyard and Frances Woodyard (Cage); his grandchildren, Bill, Hannah, Meghan, Bekah, Nathan, Kailee, Chloe and Sofia; his daughter Kathy Ostendorf (Rick) of Urbandale; his wife Barbara; and his son Bob.

Memorial contributions can be made in Bill's name to the Carlisle United Methodist Church or the Carlisle Public Library.
