With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Thomas L Lyon in Cambridge, Iowa, born in Toledo, Iowa, who passed away on March 8, 2021 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Lyon and Nellie Lyon; his brothers, Howard Lyon, Durward Lyon (Carolyn) and G. Joe Lyon (Norma); his cousin William Zmolek (Jean); and his brother Lyon Jerseys.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Jeff (Karen), Melissa Duin (Steve) and Scott; his grandchildren, Megan Lyon, Nick Lyon, Alyson Duin and Brayton Duin; and his sister-in-law Margaret Lyon (Howard). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of dad's life will be held in the Madison area at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

In lieu of flowers, dad requested that contributions be made to the Thomas and Barbara Lyon endowed scholarship fund at Iowa State University, the Thomas and Barbara Lyon endowed scholarship fund at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the scholarship fund of the National Dairy Shrine, Rainbow Hospice, or a local nonprofit of their choice.
