He is survived by: his wife Laura Shanahan of Camanche, Iowa; his daughters, Stephanie Heiken of Alexandria, Virginia and Andrea Ryan (Brandon) of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Kennedy and Kaiya Ryan; his brother Larry Heiken (Kathy) of Clinton; his mother-in-law Carol Capesius of Bellevue, Iowa; his siblings-in-law, Beverly Gaul (Jerome) of Epworth, Linda Shanahan of Maquoketa, Iowa, Glen Shanahan of Las Vegas and Kevin Capesius (Karen) of Dubuque, Iowa; and also Brenda Heiken of Rock Island, Illinois.. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
