He is survived by: his children, Steve Schaaf (Renee) of Des Moines, Dana Horton (Steve Ramirez) of Clinton and Michelle Suessmith (Brad) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Kendra Schaaf (Wilson Lewis), Whitney Ruefer (Mike), Danika Hannon (John), Lixin Lightner (Eric), Samantha Horton, Erika Suessmith and Ryan Suessmith; his sister Judy Becker (David) of West Richland, WA; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Kamps of Keokuk and Cloffus Cole of Montgomery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
