Leroy Edward Powelka Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2022, at the age of 94, Leroy Edward Powelka of Camanche, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Manfred Vince Powelka (MV) and Viola Antonette Burda Powelka; his wife Virginia Lee Busch (Ginny); and his sister Anita Powelka Meade. He is survived by: his sister Dorothy Powelka Chesney; and his children, Joseph Lee (Diane Dunlavy) of Sun Prairie, WI, John Charles (Sheila Green) of Ashland, VA, Michael Roy (Joann Strauser) of Janesville, IA, Cindy Lou Storm (Edward) of Sioux City, IA and Alice Hope Hanson (Melvin) of Mechanicsville, IA.. He is also survived by the five children there are 14 living grandchildren, one deceased, and 22 great-grandchildren.
After Ginny died in 2016 Leroy lived there through the pandemic, where he was infected twice, and formed a caring relationship with a fellow resident, Julia Primrose.
