He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Surprenant and Marie Surprenant (Poitras); his daughter Cynthia; and his siblings, Theresa and Robert.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Marge" Davis of Camanche; his daughters, Theresa Hutch (Michael) of Winder, GA, Robin Hilgendorf (Tim) and Tami Jackson of LeClaire, IA; his grandchildren, Tyler Hutch (Carly), Christian Hutch, Joshua Hutch, Zach Hilgendorf (Allison), Jacob Hilgendorf, Adam Hilgendorf, Lily Kehrberg, Jessalyn Kehrberg and Kimberly Jackson; his great grandchildren, Mariela and Baylor; and his brother Raymond Surprenant. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
