With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Kooi of Camanche, Iowa, born in Clinton, Iowa, who passed away on January 10, 2022 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William James and Catherine Kooi (Bigwood); his spouse Shirley Wiebers; his stepmother Helen Kooi (Shirley); his great grandchild Garrett Weber; and his siblings, W. James Kooi, Janice Kooi and Helen Kooi.
He is survived by: his grandsons, Koby Kooi, Breton Kooi, Nathan Kooi, Brandon Kooi, Kyle Smith, Danniel Kooi and Ryan Kooi; his children, Mike Kooi (Pam) of Camanche, Judy Determann (Tom) of Clinton, Richard Kooi (Tammie) of Camanche, Debbie Smith (Tom) of Clinton, Steve Kooi (Barb) of Camanche, Lou-Jean Buxton (Todd) of Seattle, Brian Kooi of Camanche and Barri Kooi of Camanche; his sister Phyllis Petersen of Clinton; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Wiebers of Camanche and Joyce Hart of Camanche. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
