He was predeceased by: his parents, William Klingenberg and Martha Klingenberg; his wife Sara Mae; his siblings, Claus Klingenberg (Elma) and Nancy Blau (Frederick); and his son-in-law John Payne.

He is survived by: his children, Lorna Payne, Linnet, Jim Landers, Colleen, Dave Wensil, Ione, Ron Hedges, Pete, Jillian Klingenberg and Sandra Mohlenkamp; and his brother Larry (Ruth Klingenberg). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington.
