It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lou Alleven of Calumet, Iowa, who passed away on March 11, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Lou Alleven to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Shafer and Anna Shafer; her husband Hank; her siblings, Wallace, Carol and Leora; her son Brad; and her great grandchild Audrey Corin Johnston.
She is survived by: her children, Warren Alleven (Cindy) of Delavan, Patrice LeBrun (Rick) of Springfield, Kim Bartholomew (Karmen) of Mapleton, Brenda Lenz of Denver and Monica Shannon (Tom) of Hammond, Oregon; and her sister Marlys Tewes. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mapleton Community Home and St. Teresa Catholic Church of Mapleton.
