He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Lee and Mary Ann Lee (Mathahas); his daughter Amy; his stepgrandchild Harley Moore; and his siblings-in-law, Jimita Kelley and Jerry Dooley.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ellen Lee (Kelley); his sons, Tim Lee (Denise) of Paton and Todd Lee (Jamie) of Callender; his grandchildren, Sam Lee, Olivia and James Lee; his stepgrandsons, Anthony Moore (Amber), Perry and Jeff Moore (Kylie) of Centerville; and his siblings, Dean Lee (Chris) of Fort Dodge, Denise Dooley of Fort Dodge, Deanne Johnson (Rick) and Denita Miller (Steve) of Webster City. He is also survived by six step-great grandchildren.
