We are sad to announce that on August 2, 2023, at the age of 84, Roma Jean Thayer of Calamus, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hanes Crabtree and Rosella Crabtree (Beeks); her husband William Thayer; her son Michael; and her brothers, Donald, Edward, Delmer and Darryl.
She is survived by: her children, Bobbi Jo Schaffnit (Craig) of Waterloo, Craig Thayer (Roxanna) of Moline, Christi Miller (Brian) of Calamus, Carla Emmert (Wally) of Delmar, Curt Thayer (Mic) of Dubuque and Andy Davis (Judy); her grandchildren, Thomas, Stacee, Michael, Vanessa, Sarah, Lisa, Chad, Chris, Shayne and Calli; her siblings-in-law, Ann Crabtree, Donna Tjaden, Don Thayer (Sue) and Clair Thayer; and her close friend Patricia Schultz. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
