He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick "Fritz" and Catherine "Kate" Schwien (Jastzymbski); his brother-in-law Richard Witek; his nephew Michael Schwien; and his niece Donna Witek.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his children, Carolynn of Calamus, Dan of Calamus and Greg of Calamus; his grandchildren, Ashley, Danielle, Jacob and Lexi; his great grandchildren, J. J., Joshua, Nova and Victor; and his siblings, Dorothy Witek, Gerald Schwien (Kris) and Eldridge. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
