He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Shelton and Alice Shelton (Johnson); his grandsons, Matthew Jacobs and Kent Anderson; his brother Dr. Marlon Shelton; and his brother-in-law Merle Porth.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Joyce Porth; his children, Pat Shelton of Fort Myers, Tammi Anderson and Hal Shelton (Andrea) of Calamus; his grandsons, Ross Anderson (Cara) of Ankeny, Joshua Jacobs (Kristi) of Bettendorf and Luke Shelton (Jessica) of Calamus; his great grandchildren, Oscar Anderson, Audrey, Violet, Evelyn Jacobs, Brent and Caleb Shelton; and his sisters-in-law, Elaine Shelton and Margaret "Rusty" Porth.
