He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Charles Elsner and Thelma Elizabeth Steines-Elsner; his son William "Bud" Elsner (Angela); his sister Madonna Varner; and his brothers-in-law, Melvin Todtz and Tommy Goodell.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Elsner-Goodell of Savior's Lutheran Church; his children, Kathy Jo Westerhof (Scott) of Pleasant Hill, Charity Griebel (Jeff) of Calamus, Jessica Elsner (Josh Metcalf) of Davenport, Emily Elsner (Kristen Oechsle) of Dubuque, Christian Bousselot (Rachel) of Wyoming and Camdon Bousselot of Calamus; his siblings, Bill Elsner (Shirley) of Stetsonville, Irma Meyer (Fred) of Maquoketa, Mary Eichelberger (Roger) of Muscatine, Kay Hansen (Duane) of Dewitt and Jean Todtz of Goose Lake; his grandchildren, Jacob Westerhof, Cameron, Cora Elsner, Brendan, Brianna, Brayden Williams, Chayse Griebel, Jostin, Jorian, Jevon Jones, Cale, Calysta Bousselot, Tynley, Leilani, Kalia Bousselot and Azalea Duncan; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Conner, Nicholas, Paityn, Jace and Iris.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Schultz Funeral Homes (611 Fulton St, Grand Mound, IA 52751). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (2589 190th Ave, Calamus, IA 52729).
