She was predeceased by: her parents, Nick DeJong and Cora DeJong (Visser); her husband John T. Wales; her son John L. Wales; and her siblings, Marlene Kenoyer, Nellie Reimersma, Anna Barton, Pete, John and Donald DeJong.
She is survived by: her children, Raymond Wales (Janet) of Hiteman, IA, Roger Wales of Bussey, IA and Bonnie Bartell (Rick) of Bussey, IA; her stepchildren, Kevin Van Weelden of Knoxville, IA and Kathy Jo Crook (Denny) of Knoxville, IA; and her sisters, Darlene Gray, Donna Blevins and Mary Lou Ellis. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 22 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and good friends.
A memorial has been established to Hospice of Pella.
