He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, James Heerdt of Colorado, Janelle Moe of Algona, Charis King of Colorado, Tim Heerdt of Burt and Ron Heerdt of Kansas; and his sister-in-law Carol Heerdt of Colorado. He is also survived by great nieces and nephew; and many cousins.
