He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur S. Jr. Powell and Marian Parmeter Powell; his wife Lucille Mary Margaret Schulze; his brother Randy Powell; and his son Joel Fynquist.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ellen Gehring (Brad) of Quincy, IL, Gayle Laucamp (Randy) of Tipton, Sara Beckman (Mick Olson) of Oquawka, IL and Mary Gates (Michael) of Burlington; his daughter-in-law Renee Fynquist; and his grandchildren, Chad, Andy, Jared, Clay, Jacob, Hannah, Lance, Jon, Dylan, Kya, Joe, Matthew, Judy, Rosi and Frankie. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Prugh Funeral Service (3940 Division St, Burlington, IA 52601).
