He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Penrod and Vanessa Penrod (Kimbrough); his siblings, Jim Penrod, Florence Bolander, Viola Patton and Georgianna Vantiger; and his grandson Christopher.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Morris; his children, John Penrod (Veronica), Mike Penrod, Susan Hartman (Wayne), Lonna Boeset (Doug), Matthew Penrod, Luke Penrod (Wendy), Mary Whitehead (Jake), Cherry Penrod (Brian) and Amelia Penrod (Thomas); and his siblings, Floyd Penrod (Patty), Elsie Stafford and Barb Glendening (Gary). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lunning Funeral Chapel (2620 Mt Pleasant St, Burlington, IA 52601).
A memorial has been established in his memory for Great River Klein Center.
