She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence "Bud" Penwell and Helen Penwell; her husband Chuck; and her sisters, Frances Gray and Carol Eichelberger.
She is survived by: her son Jeff Rucker (Cathy) of Burlington; her grandchildren, Aaron Rucker (Shane) of Bluffton, SC, Adam Rucker, Emily Raval (Kieran) of Vienna, VA, Jennifer Linderer (Nick) of Lawrence, KS, Kathryn Hays of San Diego, CA and Peggy Merati of Burlington; her great grandchildren, Brian Merati of Simsbury, CT and Nick Merati of Torrington, CT; her granddaughter Julia Totemeier of Burlington; her great grandchildren, Conrad Totemeier (Alycia) of New London, Karl Totemeier of New London and Detrich Totemeier (Morgan) of New London; and her sister Patricia Lopp of Hillsborough, NC.. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (321 N 5th St, Burlington, IA 52601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Penny's memory to First Presbyterian Church, Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health & Hospice or Advanced Home Health Care, the latter two which assisted the family with providing care so Mom could remain at home.
