He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chris and Augusta Swafford Wischmeier; his son-in-law Mark Siegle; and his half-brothers, Willis Cline and Lloyd Cline.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Wischmeier of Burlington; his children, Kimberly Siegle (Kirk Delzell) of Burlington and Kevin Wischmeier (Brenda) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Aubrey Poole (Skylar), Chloe Miller (Bryce), Katelyn Wischmeier and Hudson Wischmeier; and his great grandchildren, Gatlin Poole and Bellamy Poole. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, Messiah Lutheran Church, or the Mediapolis Volunteer Fire Department.
