She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Willem and Margaret "Ruth" Willem (Lansford). She is survived by: her husband William Whalen of Burlington; her sons, Michael Whalen of West Burlington, James Whalen of Gaylord and Donald Whalen of Burlington; her grandchildren, Jonathan Whalen, Amanda Dean and Breanna Whalen; her great grandchild Leia Whalen; and her siblings, Roger Willem of Urbandale, Donald Willem of White Lake, Phillip Willem of Burlington and Marcia Alter of Burlington. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for her grandchildren.
