He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Wilkerson and Fern Wilkerson (Stout); his wife Donna Sherwood; his daughter Lori Wilkerson; and his sisters, Katherine Eileen Kleinkopf and Janet Asmus.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa McElroy (Doug) of Ottumwa and Robert Wilkerson (Mandy) of Burlington, Iowa; his grandchildren, Rachel Spurgeon (Coady), Kaitlin Craff (Tyler), Ahleah Hook, Emily Wilkerson (Hunter) and Cade Wilkerson (Shayla); his great grandchildren, Elleigh, Ava, River Jo Spurgeon, Beau, David Fritz Wilkerson, Cove Reusch and Craff; and his sister Becky Rodeffer (Terry) of West Burlington.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lunning Funeral Chapel (2620 Mt Pleasant St, Burlington, IA 52601). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established in his memory for Des Moines County Animal Shelter.
