We bid farewell to David L Wiemer of Burlington, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 10, 2025 at the age of 96. David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Roy and Elma Christina Wiemer (Larson); his wives, F. Evelyn Witte and Wanda; and his brother Roger Wiemer (Norma).
He is survived by: his children, David A. Wiemer (Kathy) of Mound, MN, Douglas J Wiemer (Kathy) of Boulder, CO, Diana L Wiemer of Durand, IL and Daniel J Wiemer (Kim) of Red Wing, MN; his granddaughters, Emily Wiemer, Julia Buteyn and Paige Wiemer; his great grandchild Beckett Buteyn; his stepchildren, Mark Cornick (Karla) of Burlington, Lynn Sawyer (Tom) of Burlington, Diane Gabeline of Danville and Kathryn O'Donnell (Jim) of Seattle, WA; his stepgrandchildren, Jodi Norton, Zachary Cornick, Nicholas Cornick, Shane Sawyer, Christa Reid, Brianna McCord, Adam Gabeline, Alex Menke and Andrew; and his brother Michael Wiemer (Freddie) of Temecula, CA. He is also survived by 16 step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Prugh Funeral Service (3940 Division St, Burlington, IA 52601). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials have been established for Rockford Park District, 401 S. Main Street, Rockford, IL 61101, Partners for Conservation, 13700 Washington Road, Best Burlington, IA 52601, SCC Foundation and Messiah Lutheran Church.
