He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Burgin (Bromann) of Burlington; his daughter Christina Burgin-DeGroat (Robert) of New London; his grandson Robert DeGroat Jr.; his sister Linda Webb (Scott) of Des Moines; and his cousins, Jennifer Burgin, David Dal Burgin and Timothy Burgin.
