He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra "Pete" Ambrose and Lydia Elizabeth Powers Hill; his siblings, Larry Hill and Barbara Rainey; and his niece Diane Myers.
He is survived by: his wife Claire Hill of Burlington; his children, Kandee Matthews of Navarre, FL and Jerry Allen (Dina) of Fort Madison; his grandchildren, Lynnae (Zach), Taylor (Haley) and Alexandria (Cameron); his great grandchild Claire Ann; and his nephews, Larry Rainey and Timmy Hill.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the West Avenue Baptist Church (2500 West Ave, Burlington, IA 52601).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Burlington Public Library.
