He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Claire Rustemier; his wife Claire of Buffalo Center, IA; his children, LeRoy Hinz, Teresa Hinz of Spirit Lake, IA, Duane Hinz, Janeen Hinz of Buffalo Center, IA, Vicki Hinz and Tamar Prero; his grandchildren, Cory Hinz (Danika), Jesse Hinz (Tracy), Misty Jensen (Reid), Cory Meusburger (Kari) and Dana Navarro (Julian); his great grandchildren, Mack, Abel Navarro, Mollie, Harrison, Xander, Marena, Eli Hinz, Addi, Alex, Gena Jensen, Meah, Micah and Maddox Meusburger; his great great grandchildren, Emmett Hinz and Dahlia Pitzl; his sisters, Betty Wohlford and Phyllis Dahl (Duane); his siblings-in-law, Artis Olson (Richard), Viola Krull and David Dontje (Susan); his former wife Emma; his parents, William Hinz and Grace Hinz; and his grandson Mack Hinz. He was also cherished by his children, which included wrestling and fishing with his boys.
