She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Groe and Elizabeth Groe (Cornelius); and her sister JoAnn Hovey. She is survived by: her husband Donald H. Johnson of Buffalo Center; her children, Sheryl Johnson of Burnsville, MN and Eldon Johnson of Buffalo Center; her grandsons, Allix Betsinger of Lakota and Dallas Boysen-Betsinger of Austin, MN; her brother Comer Groe (Audrey) of Lake Mills; and her aunt Wilma Groe of Burlington. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
