He was predeceased by: his wife Lillie Bell Bunn; and his siblings, Noble Bunn, Charlie Bunn, Carroll Bunn, Johnny Bunn, Ruth Helm and Frances Montgomery.

He is survived by: his children, Kimberly McDonald, Jan Tuttle (Ed), Alan Bunn, Michele Sadler (Tracy) and Michael Bunn (Vickie); his brother Jim Bunn; his sisters-in-law, Mickie Bunn, Doris Bunn and Evelyn Bunn; and his parents, John Bunn and Tressie Wheeler Bunn. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
