He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy Patten and Betty Patten (Cline); his daughter Florence Patten; his siblings, Patti and Michael Marsh; and his stepparents, Bill Marsh, Doris Patten and Helen Patten.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Tehero; his daughter Catherine Lee Swift; and his siblings, Linda Gerard, Lorraine Patten, Erin Spencer (Jimmy) and Richard Marsh (Julie). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Service (210 Holiday Rd, Coralville, IA 52241). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church (603 Clay St, Brooklyn, IA 52211). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 12:15 PM at the Masonic - Ioof Cemetery (300 E Wood St, Montezuma, IA 50171).
Memorials may be directed to the Swisher American Legion or to Catherine Patten, in memory of Don.
