She was predeceased by: her parents, Jess Marlow and Ida Marlow (Kollasch); her husbands, Jozef Bednarz and Cruz Castillo; her son Rob Michael; her grandsons, Andrew Shellenberg, Luke Fraser and Zack Purcell; and her siblings, Joan Donavan, Denise Cook and Edward Marlow.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Goecke (Joe) of Algona, Katherine Ritchie (Bruce) of Branson, Jan Christensen of Indio, John Bednarz (Lynette) of Ellston, Angela Curell of Tucson, Theresa Gerdis of Florissant, Dr. Mary Jo Palmer of Burke, Virginia, Margaret Rose "Peggy" Shellenberg (Phil) of Algona, Thomas Bednarz (Robin) of Des Moines, Dr. Sandra Bednarz (Brandon Shahan) of Dows and Sharon Stromer (Jamie) of Britt; her daughter-in-law Kelly Paulsen; and her brother Mike Marlow of Swea City, Iowa. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephew, other relatives and friends.
Leanne was able to share the gift of life through tissue donation, a full circle moment from suffering a terrible burn in childhood.
