He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Dirksen and Anna Dirksen (Tjarks); his wife Ruth Schreur; his brother Al Dirksen; and his brother-in-law Robert Schreur.
He is survived by: his children, David Dirksen (Karen) of Woden, Susan Vriezen (Bruce) of Marion and Mike Dirksen of Ogden; his siblings, George Dirksen of Hayfield, Denny Dirksen (Rosie) of Forest City and Janice Meyer (Gerald) of Rockford; and his sister-in-law Lisa Dirksen of Titonka. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
