He is survived by: his parents, Ronald Bauer (Tina) of Britt and LoriAnne Neal of Evansdale; his stepparents, Randy Sewick and Mona Bauer; his siblings, Sonya Van Dyke (Josh), Rob Bauer (Shayna), Donny Zittritsch and Emma Bauer; his stepsiblings, Darielle True (Jeremy), Kaylee Smith (Chase), Sydney Hudspeth (Mason Muth) and Ryleigh Hudspeth; his nieces and nephews, Harpyr Van Dyke, Tripp Van Dyke, McKenin Muth and Kasen True; and his aunts and uncles, Cheryl Nelson (Bob), Judy Van Gilder (Rick), Randy Bauer (Lila), Mark Bauer, Scott Bauer (Pam), Wayne Neal, Kevin Neal (Nancy) and Greg Neal.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 1:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Ewing Funeral Home (178 Center St W, Britt, IA 50423).
Doug's talent for craftmanship, detail and working with his hands became evident as he not only helped run the businesses but made significant contributions to its success.
