He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Bernhard and Ella Bernhard (Elsbecker); his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Bernhard, Patty Bernhard of Bancroft, Barbara Bernhard and Eleanor Kohlhaas of Algona; his son Daniel Bernhard; his mothers-in-law, Connie and Susie Kohlhaas; his son-in-law Randy Mattson; his brothers, Paul, Phil, Bill and Mark Bernhard; and his brother-in-law Art Kohlhaas.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Kohlhaas; his children, Robert Bernhard (Deb) of South Bend, IN, Kathy O'Neil (Mike) of New Brighton, MN, Steve (Dawn) and Becky Mattson of Sacramento, CA; his sister Mary Celeste Goche (Bill) of Fairmont, MN; and his brother-in-law Rich Kohlhaas of Algona. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
