It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Urban Koster of Breda, Iowa, who passed away on March 30, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clem Koster and Hazel Koster (Van Erdewyk); his son Paul Koster; his siblings, Floyd Koster (Teresa), Pearl Staiert (Irvin), Edgar Koster (Delores), Elaine Bierl (Otmar), Dale Koster, Alma Schroeder (Ivan), Helen Bertrand, Jerome Koster (Jean), Norma Jean Ludwig (Romaine), Margaret, Mary and Leo; and his brothers-in-law, Frank Thielen, Thomas Scanlan and John Scanlan.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Koster of Breda; his children, Julie Main (Mark) of Lincoln, NE, Leo Koster (Cathy) of Winterset, Ann Koster of Avoca, Gail Peters (Mark) of Lidderdale, Ray Koster (Amy) of Menlo, Beth Koster of Shawnee, KS, Neil Koster (Frendie) and Tami Onken (Joel) of Glidden; his daughter-in-law Julia Koster of Winterset; his sisters, Anita Hannasch (Duane) of Carroll, Myrna Schmidt (Van) of Three Forks, MT and Alice Thielen of Carroll; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Nieland (James) of Omaha, NE, Robert Scanlan (Peg) of Lake City, Patrick Scanlan (Shirley) of Kiron and James Scanlan (Pam) of Denison. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
