He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Behrens and Louise Behrens (Beyerink); his daughter Ashley Mohr; his siblings, Jeff Behrens and Lori Rossiter; and his sister-in-law Linda Wempe.

He is survived by: his son Joel Behrens (Jessica) of Breda; his siblings, Dennis Behrens of Carroll, Sharon Behrens of Carroll and Mark Behrens (Laurie) of Carroll; his stepmother Virgene Behrens of Carroll; and his siblings-in-law, John Rossiter of Willey and Paula Behrens of Coon Rapids. He is also survived by many extended family members and good friends.
