She was predeceased by: her adoptive parents, Dennis Hickey and Loretta Hickey; her parents-in-law, Ben and Elizabeth Schwabe; and her siblings-in-law, Peter Schumacher, Bernard Irlbeck, Leonard Schumacher, Paul Schwabe and Marie Schumacher.
She is survived by: her husband Roger; her children, Jean Young (Chris) of Breda, Pat Thraen (Tony) of Omaha, Mike Schwabe (Paula) of Breda, Sharon Owens (Carl) of Omaha and Bill Schwabe (Pam) of Carroll; and her siblings, Jim Hickey (Gayle) of Hawkins, Jean Schumacher of Alpharetta and Georgia. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions left for Kay's family will be gathered and directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
