It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Nieland of Breda, Iowa, born in Carroll, Iowa, who passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Oswald and Teresa Oswald (Goecke); her husband Norm; her granddaughter Megan; and her siblings, Rita Reicks, Maizie Soyer, Dorothy Vogl, Lola Heim, Arthur, Paul, Charlie, Bill and Lou Oswald.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Wilson (John) of Breda, Brenda Bahrke (Bill) of Neola and Sharon Gubbels (Glen) of Harlan; her grandchildren, Corey Gramowski (Kari) of Emmetsburg, Laura Nickman (Aaron) of Council Bluffs, Amanda Scherer (Brandon) of Neola, Cody Bahrke (Erin) of Laguna Nigel, CA, Samantha Kruse (Kevin) of Redfield and Brett Gubbels of Harlan; her great grandchildren, Alex, Tanner, Emma Gramowski, Leo, Maizie and Charlie Nickman; her grandchildren, Blake, Brock, Ava Scherer, Quinn and Harrison Kruse; her siblings, Marge Tigges (Robert) of Carroll and Leon Oswald (Florence); and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Oswald of North Platte, NE and Marita Bruning of Carroll. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
