He was predeceased by: his mother Evelyn Mueggenberg (Krogman); his children, Becky and Billy; his grandson Zachary Heuton; his father Gerhard Mueggenberg; his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Mary Haverman; his brothers, Ronald Mueggenberg and Mark Mueggenberg; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Peter, Bob Gehling, Carl Gehling and Laverne Mueggenberg.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Noah Heuton, Rachel Nurse, Amanda Mueggenberg, Nick Mueggenberg, Blake Brightwell, Reese Brightwell, Michael Mueggenberg, Claire Mueggenberg, Ashley Mueggenberg, Jacob Weston, Andrew Nurse, Brandon Heuton and Alex Heuton; his sons-in-law, Paul Heuton, Brad Brightwell and Steve Nurse; his wife Arlene Mueggenberg of Breda; his children, Lori Nurse (Steve) of Ankeny, Bonnie Heuton (Paul) of Carroll, Dan Mueggenberg (Stacy), Larry Mueggenberg of Kearney, NE and Marcy Brightwell (Brad) of Urbandale; his siblings, Jane Peter of Dedham, JoAnn Gehling of Carroll, Ken Mueggenberg (Louayne) of Carroll, Ruth Thomson (Gordon) of Port Angeles, WA, Linda Gehling of Carroll, Gary Mueggenberg (Pat) of Lake View, Richard Mueggenberg (Marilyn) of Arcadia, Mary Grossman (Randy) of Carroll, Alvin Mueggenberg (Sue) of Arcadia, Darrell Mueggenberg (Renee) of Arcadia and Neil Mueggenberg (Marlene) of Pahrump, NV; and his sisters-in-law, Cindy Mueggenberg of Carroll, Nancy Mueggenberg of Breda, Bernice Mueggenberg of Sac City, Leona Mueggenberg (John) of Breda, Alvina Thelen (Allen) of Anita, Marian Sturm (Bob) of Ankeny and Janet Brincks (Ron) of Roselle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends.
Those in attendance at the funeral mass are required to wear face coverings and abide by current social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Hospital or the St. Anthony Cancer Center.
