He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Strathman and Betty Strathman (Johnson); and his sister Karen Keil. He is survived by: his daughter Cassie Strathman; his siblings, Hazel Hartsock and Bill Hartsock; his granddaughters, Stella and Hallie; his close friends, Anthony Kasl and Paul Widner; and his cousin Thomas.
