With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deanna Lea Abernathey of Brandon, Iowa, who passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl R. Rouse and Catherine Weston (Schnepf); and her husband Eugene Abernathey. She is survived by: her children, Carmen Sloan (David) of Avon, IL and Carrie Bantz (Curt) of Rowley, IA; her grandchildren, Iain McGrew, James McGrew, Carley Robison (Jake Covault), Cayla Bantz (Christian Nixdorf), Cameron Bantz (Alyssa), Collin Bantz (Haley Skiens) and Duane Donley of Brandon, IA; her siblings, Char Swarts (Wayne) of Independence, IA, Wendy Sperfslage (Richard) of Quasqueton, IA and Terry Rouse (Connie); and her stepbrother Russ Weston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
