He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Sietstra and Edith Sietstra (De Zeeuw); his brother John Sietstra; and his nephew Joseph Sietstra. He is survived by: his friend LaVonne Rens; his wife LaVonne of Boyden; his children, Lorayne (Matt Middendorp) of Clinton, Luke Sietstra (Amy) of Sheldon and Link Sietstra of Boyden; his grandchildren, Ethan, Isaac, Ashton and Amelia Middendorp; his sons, Landon and Levi Sietstra; his siblings, Phil (Marcia Sietstra), Dale (Lila Sietstra), Karla (Dave De Jongh) and Cheryl (Dennis Rodger); and his sister-in-law Linda Sietstra of Lee Summit, Missouri. He is also survived by siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials will be given to the Boyden Fire Department and the William-Monster American Legion Post in Boyden.
