He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Doorenbos and Marguerite Doorenbos (Bomgaars); his grandson Jesse Eric Doorenbos; his brothers, Ivan "Butch" Doorenbos and John (Jean Doorenbos); and his brothers-in-law, Bud Slaughter and Larry De Jong.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Baerenwald of Boyden; his sons, Mike Doorenbos of Boyden, Iowa, Scott (Tara) and Ryan Doorenbos of Boyden, Iowa; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jocelyn (Eric De Bruin), Ally, Taelyn and Hudsyn; his great grandchildren, Kasen, Hadley and Tucker; his sisters, Harriet (Richard Giancaspro) of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Shirlee Slaughter of Palm Desert, California and Marliss DeJong of Pittsburg, Missouri; and his sister-in-law Beverly Doorenbos of Rock Rapids, Iowa.
