Marel and Anna Van Marel (Cleveringa); his sister Darlene Bolt; his siblings-in-law, Rosetta Van Marel, Berwyn Van Otterloo, John De Jager and Merle Klosterbuer; his nephew Kevin Van Dam; and also, William, Jessie Kooiman, Shannon Kollis and Leann Bleyenberg.

He is survived by : his wife Clarella Kooiman of Boyden; his child Dean (Amy Van Marel) of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Jena Van Marel and Ryan Van Marel; his child Lynn Cuperus of Hull; his grandchildren, Kayla Goslinga (Brett), Mindi Woelber, Dustin Woelber, Kelsi Anderson (Damon), Lindsey Cuperus and Ryan Cuperus; his children, Beth and Bill Scott of Phoenix; his grandsons, Caleb Scott and Derek Scott; his great grandchildren, Breckyn, Aspen Goslinga, Paisley and Kayden Anderson; his siblings, Arnold Van Marel, Evelyn Van Dam (Gerhart), Rose Bleyenberg (Arvin), Luretta Van Otterloo and Mary Palmquist (Don); his brother-in-law Vernon Bolt; and also, Rosetta, Elberta De Jager, Joyce Klosterbuer and Alvin Kooiman (Alvina). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bible League International and the Wycliffe Bible Translators.
