With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Susan Ellen Wilson of Boone, Iowa, born in Seattle, Washington, who passed away on March 1, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Axtell and Minnie Axtell (Werner); her husband John Wilson; her son Jeffrey Wilson; and her siblings, Fred Axtell, Dorothy Larson (Joseph) and Betty Singh (Pat).
She is survived by: her children, Jeff, John Wilson III, Jim Wilson (Kelly), Tom Wilson (Kelly) and Marge Wilson; her grandchildren, John Wilson IV (Kimberlee), Amanda McClure (Mark), Suzee Stone (Phil), Kimberly Bickelhaupt (Corey), Kayla Schulte (Tim), Kylene Marshall (Greg), Dylan Wilson, Theodore Wilson, Krishelle Wilson and Kaylee Wilson; her great grandchild Sophie Wilson; her grandchildren, Grace McClure, Joe, Adrian, Maximilian Stone, Omelia Bickelhaupt, Schulte, Faye and Owen Marshall; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylin Winquist and Kelsee Davis.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to the Choroideremia Research Foundation – an organization dedicated to finding a cure for a genetic eye condition affecting Sue and several members of her family.
