He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle McDowell and Grace "Winona" McDowell (Angell); and his siblings-in-law, Kenny Atwater and Anita McDowell. He is survived by: his sons, Chad McDowell of Boone and Brian McDowell of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Jordan, Dylan, Mikayla McDowell, Hailey Brown (Justin), Cooper and Caden McDowell; his great grandchild Wyatt; and his siblings, Betty Mullis (Leon), David McDowell (Sheila Wiltes) of Snohomish, WA and Patti Atwater of Manchester. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
