He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray E. Hopkins and Mary Hopkins (Steffy); and his sisters, Betty Johnson and Vivian Nelson (LeRoy). He is survived by: his wife Helen Walters of Boone; his children, Darcy Bosch (Dwight) of Boone, Tim Hopkins (Lori) of Boone and Jean Cartee (Randy) of Boone; his grandchildren, Angie Kruse (Scott), Kristin Foss (Joe), Kyle Bosch (Shannon), Amy Eckard (Jamie), Aleesha Angstrom (Kyle), Tyler Cartee (Kelli) and Mason Cartee; and his nephew Darrell Nelson (Deb). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
